#TotallyTrueFactsTuesday – October 2, 2018

This week, we go back to the oddities of the internet for a Totally True Fact in unexpected restaurant ownership.

I’d say not to trust everything you see on the internet, but Mickey Rooney apparently did own a restaurant at one time (but not one called potato Fantasy, this is just a parody).  Though the name of the establishment sounds like a column in some bizarre Playboy-esque publication for farmers, this was fairly close to truth.

According to this article published on The Life and Times of Hollywood, Mickey Rooney was the owner of a 52 location restaurant chain called Mickey’s Weenie World.  He also had two other restaurants – Mickey Rooney’s Delicious (um…..) and Mickey Rooney’s Star-B-Q.  Those actually existed at one time, but potato fantasies…no so much.

But I’m sure they served potatoes the way Mickey likes them…even in shake form.

Now there’s a concept.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, this amazingly realistic advertisement was created by Redditor fluckyducky, who talks about it in this Reddit post.  I highly recommend finding out about their creative process.
