#ThrowbackThursday Believes in the Power of Cool Whip

Because foodstuff should always equal power!

Welcome to Throwback Thursday, where commercials from the archives get their rightful due.

This week, we will look at the power of whipped cream.  As we know, behind mustard, ketchup, and bacon, whipped cream is quite possibly one of those things that can only make food better.  And not all in that same combination.

Well, ok, I’ve had mustard and ketchup on the same hamburger that included bacon.  Don’t judge me!

Today’s commercials come to us from what I’m assuming is sometime between the late 1960s and the 1970s, and what happens when our best baking intentions can only be fixed by the miracle of one thing…Cool Whip!

OMG, that cake!!  What happened to you?!

And for the second commercial today, we meet a guy who doesn’t want alot of pumpkin pie…but REALLY wants alot of Cool Whip.

What are you waiting for, that Cool Whip isn’t going to serve itself!  Hit play!

I love how the husband saves the day, even if he had to use a whole tub of Cool Whip to fix it!

Hehe, she doesn’t suspect anything!

And this husband, who should have some pie with his Cool Whip!

Mmmm, soooo much whipped cream!

Oh, and the song choice this week for the opening and closing is Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass’ “Whipped Cream,” which sounds like “Spanish Flea,” don’t you think?

And there you have it, your Throwback Thursday dessert!  Come back tomorrow for more whipped cream…and other delights.

That’s the album title that “Whipped Cream” is on.  Yes, that was the best way I could think of to close this article.  What do you want from me?!

Trust the power of the blue tub.
