The Daily Post Writing Prompt – Naked with Black Socks

Today’s prompt asks:

Are you comfortable in front of people, or does the idea of public speaking make you want to hide in the bathroom? Why?

I’m pretty good when I speak to a crowd, depending on the topic I’m speaking about.  Given the choice, I’d rather not speak to a crowd, but I would never hide in the bathroom!  At staff meetings, if there is anything I need to mention to the room (which is packed with administrative staff and management), I will keep it brief and scan the room quickly when I say what I need to convey.  I’d also rather speak in front of a crowd as long as I know that someone I know and whose opinion I value is in the room to hear it.

  1. The worst is when people are looking at you when you speak as if you have a second head growing out of your neck. But I’ve come to realize that most of the people I work with fear the life of public speaking even more so than I. Perhaps you can consider this during your next meeting?

    1. OMG, I hate when people look at me that way in normal conversation! Even worse, when someone is looking at you with this “I have no clue what your are talking about” look, or the “condescending face.”
