In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Handwritten.”
When was the last time you wrote something by hand? What was it?
I’ll preface my response by saying that I hate handwriting any long documents – my handwriting is nice, but I tend to write my words close together, which can be hard to read. I also have injured my left wrist, so it tends to cramp up when I have to handwrite for long periods of time. Therefore, I do alot of typing. I know it’s not good for the hands and wrists either, but when your words per minute average is 65-70, typing tends to be the better option.
The last time I wrote something by hand was meeting minutes at work, about four years ago. I decided to invest in a tablet (I now own a laptop that I bring to work with me daily) so I could type my minutes. It actually is more efficient, as I can just go back to the document and make corrections right there, as opposed to handwriting my minutes, as I had to write incomplete sentences and thoughts and then try to figure out what the heck I was talking about.
