“I Wonder Where #FlashbackFriday Gets Her Coat…”

Go up and ask her!

Or just click “Read More” and perhaps you’ll find out!

Posting a big commercial block felt like an accomplishment yesterday – turns out people really like these giant blocks.  While today’s commercial block is somewhat smaller than yesterday’s block, it also is 15 years old.

So, moving backwards from February 2000, we go to March 1985 and switch coasts, from New York to Los Angeles.  This time, the commercials are from KABC in Los Angeles, that market’s ABC station during an what appears to be the late local news.

Included in this commercial block:

Financial planning with a futuristic-sounding name…to go with its very futuristic-looking font!

Perfect communities of Southern California…also with futuristic-looking font!

I’ve been to one of these “manufactured” communities, in my case, Mission Viejo, and yes, they are everything you’d expect…right down to AstroTurf lawns!

Kenmore Days…and nights of washing clothes!

Bragging rights on airfare costs!

PIZZA!

Furniture!

SnapShot(3)

Batteries…of the future!

(These were the pre-General Electric ownership days of NBC, so they advertised on other networks!  Mind-blowing, isn’t it?)

So, there you have it!  We’ve got local commercials, national commercials, and everything in between!

So go on and click play, the commercials are waiting for you!

Oh and to answer that question of where she got her coat…

That’s the trick.  That’s all you have to say. You don’t even have to ask, she already knows what you will ask…and she’ll have an answer too.

Ah yes, Anne Klein II.

Wait, what?

Don’t ask too many questions, I watched that commercial three times and it never made sense to me.

Have a fantastic Flashback Friday, and a great weekend!
