One Heck of a #FlashbackFriday!

1987, commercials, and Fridays. Sounds good to me!

This week, my archives of Throwback Thursday  and Flashback Friday are taking a week off, but that doesn’t mean I’m taking the week off.

No way!

In fact, this week, we’re digging into the archives of YouTube and digging up the finest commercial blocks of the past, provided they’re retro and from July 4th.

Done and done.

Yesterday, we travelled back to July 4, 1981 to watch some commercials from WTBS, and today, we’re moving a few years forward to July 4, 1987.  It’s Saturday night, so we’re watching commercials airing during a rerun from the 1986-1987 season of Saturday Night Live (according to the description, the rerun airing this evening is of the season premiere, so that would be host Sigourney Weaver, musical guest Buster Poindexter), as well as ones aired during a rerun of Soul Train. Oh, and we’re watching these commercials on KTSM in El Paso, Texas

We’ve got lots of goodies in store, including:

Waterbed sales!

Like a good neighbor, these guys are there…

There were a few of these that just popped up during the commercial breaks.  Give Del Roy or Jeff a call!

We’ve got movie trailers, television movie promos, television show promos, and a whole lotta variety in this collection.

Just the way nature intended.

Or networks who put these ads in groups.  Whatever works.

So, whenever you’re ready to take on such a huge block of commercials…then do so!

A huge thanks to the awesome Channel 6 (run by awesome YouTuber Michael Pannoni, known for his massive archives!) for uploading the block of commercials featured in today’s Flashback Friday.  Channel 6 (and Michael), I salute you!

And that does it for this week.  Next week, my archives will come back out to play.

So, until then, have a great Flashback Friday, and a fantastic weekend!
