#PresidentsDay In The Archives: “Sesame Street”: Washington’s Father

It’s Presidents Day, and I would be remiss if I didn’t find something in the archives to celebrate it.

Heck, if it is a holiday I can capitalize on, I will!

Please enjoy this adorable and hilarious (in the Muppets sense) sketch from their archives, when Kermit interviewed George Washington’s father.  The story?  Little George Washington chops down his father’s cherry trees, but cannot lie that he did it.

His father knows that his son is going somewhere.

Now, if he can just get George to stop chopping down the trees with his little hatchet…
