Oh, thank goodness. I thought there was one of those “there’s no stupid questions” statements coming.
With that in mind, how do you eat a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup? I don’t have any special way, I just take nice, ladylike bites out of it…with my pinkie finger extended because I’m a classy sort.
My point is, if we like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, we all have a specific way of how we eat them. In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s (until 2000 when the slogan changed), the company declared that there is no wrong way to eat a Reese’s. A series of advertisements demonstrated this slogan, while showing how ordinary people (like you and me), eat a Reese’s. Behold, today’s commercial, from 1989!
Each commercial introduced the devourer of Peanut Butter Cup Awesomeness:
Meet Scotty and his younger brother, Roger.
And meet Roger’s way of eating a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup, when you click play!
How does he do that?
He’ll never tell you, but he knows one thing…it’s good.
Did he make a circle in the wrapper too?!
So, um, yeah. Advertising at its simplest and most effective. And it is delicious!
And there you have it, one of the many, not wrong ways to eat a Reese’s.
Tomorrow, we’ll meet a different individual, and find out how they eat a Reese’s.
Have a great Throwback Thursday, and enjoy your Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup…however you eat it.
We don’t ask, but we are fascinated.
