Daily Post Writing Prompt: February 2018

I enjoyed compiling all of the one-word prompts during the month of January 2018, so I figured, why not February?

For the month of February, 28 new words!

I’m profuse, so I have an overabundance of something – wealth, humor, happiness, something tangible, or something on an emotional, spiritual, or non-material level.  I’m also exuberant, extravagant, lavish, copious, and giving.  I’m a very generous person.  Lucky you!

I’m puzzled.  I can’t tell you why I’m so confused, but I am.  I’m perplexed, flummoxed, and confused.

Sympathizing is to feel or express sympathy, as well as to agree with an opinion or sentiment.  You’re in favor of something, supporting, going along with, approving, and backing an opinion, action, or feeling.

Creature Feature, From The Black Lagoon, Comforts, Of Habit, fictional, imaginary, Of The Night, and Walks Among Us.

If I’m permitting you, I’m giving permission, allowing, authorizing, and consenting you to do something, perform an action, or hold an event.  If I’m handing you a permit, you’re receiving a document for such permission.

I’m enrolling in a course, class, seminar, or workshop.  I’m signing up for said course, class, seminar, or workshop.  I’m officially registered once I sign up.  I’m also recruiting someone for a service by enrolling them.

I’m bewildered.  I’m confused, surprised, perplexed, baffled, bemused, puzzled, flummoxed, mystified, confounded, and addled.  Yes, addled.  Did I mention flummoxed?  It’s another word for bewildered.  Which I am right now.

When you do something out of habit, you tend to do something.  You frequently behave a certain way, and have, possess, and display a certain characteristic.  When you tend, you also go or move in a certain direction.  Tend, in mathematics, is also an approach, or a quantity or limit.

I like to simplify things.  I make it easier, clarify any confusing aspects, and put it into Layman’s terms.  I want you to be able to understand or do something.

I insist that you not refuse.  I’m demanding forcefully.  I want something from you, whether it be something you have, your time, or your talent.  I’m assertive, standing firm, and resolute in what I want or need.  I’m also putting forward a statement positively and assertively.

Mnemonics aid and power the memory.  My Very Enterprising Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas.  That’s not nonsense, that’s Mars, Venus, Earth, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.  Yes, Pluto.  Despite what science has referred to Pluto recently.

I’m conjuring a spirit or ghost to appear.  I’m using a magic ritual, like a Ouija board.  By conjuring in the more archaic sense, I’m imploring you to do something.  Hope you’re not the pliable type that would just – oh I don’t know – jump off a bridge if I told you to!

And don’t lecture me about why the above is a bad idea, since I can obviously easily influence you to think otherwise!

Seriously, you have no reason to be suspicious of me.  I’m not going to do anything to implore or harm you.  I would never…seriously, are you that suspicious of me?

Costume: Dance, Halloween, Cosplay, Jewelry, Disguise, historical dress, regional dress, festive, celabratory

Rube Goldberg, his invention, or a country bumpkin. Also the nickname of the catcher in the second Major League movie, who can only throw anything he catches when thinking about Playboy articles, or the Fredrick’s of Hollywood catalog.

To have courage is to persevere, have strength, determination, tenacity, bravery, the ability to do something despite grief, pain, or obstacle, audacity, and boldness.

Today is the present.  If I’m giving you a present, I’m giving you a gift.  I’m presenting you with a gift, service, show, or display.

When I compromise, I’m giving in to something that I may not agree with, but can find common ground on.  We are settling a dispute, reaching a middle ground, striking a balance, and a happy medium.

A constant is always there, ever present, continuing regularly, continuous, unchanging, and dependable.

A hard surface layer, or formation of a crusty layer, is encrusted.  Mud drying, cement drying. Encrusted can also mean decorated (inlayed or overlayed) with contrasting material.

When I assay, I’m testing a metal or ore to determine its ingredients, content, and quality. Or I’m attempting.  Like, for instance, I’m assaying to construct an entire month’s worth of daily writing prompts!

I’m conversant with writing, word association, grammar, nostalgia, and blogging.  I’m familiar with these subjects.  You can say I’m “at home” and comfortable with these subjects.

Astral is something connected with, or resembling the stars.  If you really want to get weird about it, an astral being is one whose nonphysical realm of existence to which various psychic and paranormal phenomena are ascribed, and in which the physical human body is said to have a counterpart.  An astral body, so to say!

When we congregate, we gather, are communal, assemble, gather, collect, convene, rally, rendezvous, cluster, and meet.  After we’ve done this, we disperse.

Come with me, and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination.  Take a look, and you’ll see into your imagination.  Having an imagination is the ability to form ideas, concepts, and images of external objects not present to the senses.  Imaginations are the result of creativity and resourcefulness.

I had a premonition.  I know something is going to happen before it does, because I had a flash in my mind, or a dream.  I have a strong feeling about this, and it usually isn’t a good thing.

The light is dim.  It’s not bright, but it’s not shut off.  The room is badly lit when it is dim, and I can’t see well.  When my memory is dim, I can’t recall something.  When sound is dim, it is difficult to hear, indistinct, or muffled.  When your prospects are dim, there isn’t much hope or optimism.

But you know what you can rely on?  This post ending!

Until next month, have fun with wordplay!  You may just learn something new!
