There is this amazing machine of product awareness called merchandising the holy hell out of popular things.
It worked in the 1980s on every toy we played with, and in the early 1990s, the marketing train rolled into a book series popular with young girls. Because a TV show had already been done, so why not…a music album not full of music from the TV show?
