Today’s Daily Post writing prompt: Apprentice

An apprentice is someone who is in training, learning the ropes from a skilled/experienced employer. An apprentice agrees to work for a fixed amount of time for a lower wage.  A college internship (paid or unpaid) is a good example of an apprenticeship.

Some synonyms for apprentice:

Trainee

Learner

Probationer

Novice

Beginner

Starter

Student

Rookie

“Newbie”

And surprisingly, there is only one antonym for apprentice:
