Artificial is a nasty word!

Is it? Is it really?

This week, in honor of setting up New Year’s resolutions, we’re covering vices we try to give up for the upcoming year.  Yesterday, we were tempted by candy, and today, soda is trying to get our attention!

In this week’s installment of Flashback Friday, we are going back into the archives of 1001 Classic Commercials to be tempted by some high fructose corn syrup…in liquid form!  With bubbles!

Among today’s selections…

Nothing goes together like Coca-Cola and athleticism!

Mary Ann Lynch is obsessed with how Coke keeps her going.  You can write to her at Trans World Airlines to find out how she does it!

Oh, wait…

Steals and deals!

…and there ain’t nothin’ like the real thing…baby!

7-Up…and the most boring spokesperson ever!

Seriously, this guy makes the Action Max announcer seem exciting by comparison!

And look, 7-Up has a spokesbird!

Parades come marching, kids come running…

Because Shasta is a thing!

“Let’s toast to the most boring town ever, we’re into Shasta now!  And later, we’ll toast to that boring 7-Up guy, who may yet find a more exciting soda!”

But don’t take my word for it, click play and your teeth may yet hurt as bad as mine do from watching all of this high fructose corn syrup in liquid form!

Ick.

And there you have it, the first week of 2017, and I’m trying to break your good habits!

Actually, I’m just showing you commercials.  How you cope with them is up to you.

Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday will return next week!
