Post-Thanksgiving Commercials from The Archives

Happy Day After Thanksgiving, readers!

As you probably already figured out, Throwback Thursday and its sibling, Flashback Friday, took the holiday off after its turkey-fueled food coma.  I’ve made up for it in huge ways (two recaps, anyone?), but I would be remiss if some part of this weekend didn’t involve a trip into the commercial archives.

So here, for your viewing pleasure, is a block of commercials from November 28, 1998 (date verified), as taped from WNBC 4 during the primetime special Saturday Night Live Goes Commercial Volume 2.

Included herein, we have:

Fred Savage…Bird Killer! (And short-lived sitcoms!)

Turkeys who type!

That other purple pill (possibly the first one?)!

Playstation’s answer to Sonic the Hedgehog…and the Christmas celebration he crashes.

Also…Creepy Clowns of 1998!

Ginormous cell phones!

So sleek!

Gateway stores!

Hairloss medications…by prescription!

And an earworm commercial you won’t soon forget!

So go on, click play, an revel in Post-Turkey Day delight!

Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday will return next week (for a special RiffTrax Live-themed week), but will go on hiatus for the rest of December.  But for now, enjoy the commercials!

Have a great weekend!
