Robot Commando Is Waiting for #FlashbackFriday’s Command!

Yesterday, on Throwback Thursday

Domo Arigato to everyone who comes by each week to engage in my commercial choices for the week.  I’ve been doing this for a year, and I still have alot to give.  It’s possible I’ll change gears for both days at some point, but for the moment, I’m enjoying sharing all of my finds with those that enjoy partaking.

So, it’s Friday, and we’re continuing on this week’s theme of robot toys.  Yesterday brought us the Ding-A-Lings, cute little robots with cute little jobs.  And then I stuck them in a video where “Mr. Roboto” made them look awesome (you can find that video on Retroist, if you so choose).  Today’s inclusion involves an intimidating, but as it turns out, friendly robot, who is under your control.

When he’s not busy looking faux-intimidating…

Or shooting missiles out of his head…

He’s busy rolling his crazy eyes…and taking your commands!

The remote has a microphone where he takes commands from, but also has switches to dictate his every move.

And if you click play, you too can see how intimidating this thing is…until he starts taking orders from YOU!

And yes, I thought it was Robot Commander, not Robot Commando, so excuse the typo within the video.

This kinda reminds me of another robot that supposedly takes commands…

The riffing in this is hilarious!

And there you have it, our week ends on a high note, and we’ve met some of the toy robots kids wanted back in the day.  You know, when toy robots were cool.

I’m assuming on some level, they might be, but I’m not optimistic.

Oh well, have a great Friday, and a great weekend!
