May the 4th Be With You

A Happy Star Wars Day to all the geeks, nerds, and passionate people out there.

I never believed I would be saying this, ever.

Until two years ago, I was resistant to anything that involved Star Wars, but apparently in my “old” age, I’ve found it’s ok to embrace it.  It’s what geek culture and geek life has done to me folks…softened me.

I’ve taken a few photos with some of the R2D2 stuff I own.  I’m guilty of having a soft spot for the cute little droid that avoids confrontation on any level.

Oh and I love BB-8 too, but I don’t have any pictures of my BB-8 toys handy…and by toys, I mean a Hallmark Itty Bitty and a Funko Pop Bobblehead…the one I had to re-buy after my original one became the victim of accidental throw-out while my closet was getting new carpeting.  I will have to take some pictures of him later.

But here are some photos from previous blog postings I made.

From 2014’s Star Wars Day:

And because I thought this turned out cute, I did a smartass version…

“He’s following me, isn’t he?”

And this one from 2015:

R2D2

“You’re a feisty little one, but you’ll soon learn some respect.”

That little Lego keychain has a flashlight on it. I picked him up at the Franklin Institute last year.

And finally, for this fine Star Wars Day, some commercials that aired during the Star Wars Holiday Special  in 1978…with the riffing stylings of Michael J. Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy, from RiffTrax and Mystery Science Theater 3000!

May the Fourth Be With You…Today and Always!

Anytime it’s the fourth of May, of course.  Because that statement doesn’t really makes sense otherwise, does it?

What?!
