Practice Makes Perfect?

The Daily Post prompt (after some shuffling):

Tell us about a talent you’d love to have… but don’t.

I’d love to be able to do a few things:

Write fiction – despite my writing talents, I actually lack the ability to create a fictional plot and develop it.  I was able to when I was younger and took Creative Writing, but when I was in college, I found my true niche was in research and essay writing.  As I graduated from college, I found humor and nostalgia to be my stronger suits.

Sew/Knit/Crochet – I’ve never actually attempted any of this, but I’m convinced I would get frustrated with the idea of trying to sew a button, let alone attempt to crochet or knit.  My hands are good at typing, but not much else!

Draw/Paint – Anything I’ve ever visually concepted becomes a jumbled mess somewhere between my brain and my left hand.

The Ability to Demonstrate Talents I Do Have – I’d love to be able to teach someone how to write, or how to read, but I have no ability to demonstrate.  I get frustrated easily trying to explain things (usually it’s because I have a hard time finding the right words or approach to teaching someone how to do something). and then I get upset and want to just do something myself, rather than teach.  I’d rather not have to teach someone when I can just do it myself and save alot of time.  I’m wordy and have been told I’m a little hard to understand when I get technical.
