I cycled through the prompts, rather than write about the one that was actually posted for today. I particularly liked this prompt from January 16, 2013:
Most of us are excellent at being self-deprecating, and are not so good at the opposite. Tell us your favorite thing about yourself.
I am definitely guilty of being an excellent self-deprecator, but I do have a favorite something about myself. Actually, a few favorite somethings.
- I love my writing abilities, and my penchant for my carefully-crafted scribes you see on my blog on a daily basis.
- I love my ability to find the most unusual (and unusual nostalgic) things to write about.
- I love my video editing abilities.
I love these abilities because I’m the only one in my family who has them. While it makes me different (and sometimes different isn’t something I want to be), it’s what makes me who I am. I don’t exactly stand out, so I need something to grab attention. I’d like to think that in certain circles, these abilities stand out.
Yep, total self-deprecation there.
